Thanks very much (not) for the disclaimer at the end. I thought for sure I was getting the straight scoop on an actual paddleboat race, the kind of reporting I might get from Wally Ballou.
Speaking of hotdog, a dear friend of mine who just passed away had a wonderful long-haired dachshund. His daughter gave it to him and she named the dog Kobayashi. The Japanese guy, a slight fellow, who came over and beat Joey Chestnut in the Nathan’s hot dog eating contest. He called the dog Yashi for short. That dog was fabulous. And a great story. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the dog after my friend passed, but his daughter who bought it in the first place took it with her, she loves animals. That dog comforted two people in the family who died from cancer. I have a picture of Yashi in a taco outfit because we couldn’t find a hotdog outfit for Halloween!

Well, sorry to have shattered the Ballou effect. I felt a moral duty to come clean :)

That's an uplifting story; the comfort a dog can bring is amazing.
The funniest part is that none of this feels impossible. Humans have an incredible talent for taking ordinary things and making them weird as f..k.
Happy Tuesday, Rich.
