How many people on Zoom are currently being judged by their bookshelf, and how many of those books have actually been opened?
On the bigger point - Maybe the line between pretending and becoming is thinner than we think. Sometimes the thing we put on the shelf is an emerging self we are still growing into.
Well, before virtual backgrounds became a thing, bookshelf judging was rampant. Me? Guilty as charged.
From my years in business and interest in politics, I've always thought imposters come in different flavors -- which is what motivated the piece. I'd argue the line between pretending and being is thinner than we think! So we're aligned :)

I can’t seem to find any of the titles on Wilfred’s list at Amazon. Especially frustrating since I’m planning to take my next vacation in Newark and am not familiar with the highlights there.
Yeah, sorry -- Amazon isn't very up to date in the modern classics. As for Newark, I can save you some time: there are no highlights. Maybe plan a trip to Piscataway instead?
